In June 2014, I participated in a 2 weeks' intensive course of Greek, level A1, at Kleis, and I was totally surprised by the results of their teaching abilities: after 2 weeks I could express myself with restaurant and hotel staff and other locals in all the everyday situations, and experienced a deep satisfaction of theis learning process. The multiple pedagogical methods and the teachers' wonderful personalities made it a super-experience which I definitely want to continue next year. Helena T Kytölä, Finland

If you are eager to learn Greek in a lovely place with a very good teacher you have found the school you are looking for!

I started learning Greek quite some years ago, I have attended many courses and had class with many teachers and Angela is by far the best teacher I ever had. Not only did she teach me all the Greek I know but she also "opened the door" for me to Greek culture, current affairs and civilization.

I am an interpreter at the European Commission and learnt Greek for work. I am a very demanding student, with very specific needs. Angela has always prepared tailor-made classes for me, always with new, up-to-date, very interesting and very challenging material (texts, DVD, listening exercises, idiomatic expressions and even thematic dossiers).

She is a very dedicated teacher, very professional; you can feel she enjoys what she does and has the capability to transmit her enthusiasm. Time spent with her just flies away, that is why I regularly go back to Chania to refresh my knowledge.

The school is beautifully situated. I spent 6 months in a flat just opposite the school and I was delighted. The area is far away from the hectic touristic area but it is very lively. There are lots of nice cafés, shops, supermarkets, banks and restaurants. You get a chance to meet "normal" citizens and the Venetian Port is just a stone's throw away.

Angela Sgourou was my first modern Greek teacher when I came to live in Chania some years ago and could hardly speak the language.

I remember it was always with great enthusiasm I waited for the next lesson, and quickly found myself communicating with locals, listening to music, reading newspapers and literary books, and even watching Greek films.

Angela is a very pleasant and dedicated teacher not only with a deep knowledge of her mother language, but also fully capable of transmitting this knowledge to her foreigner students, from beginners to very advanced non-native Greek speakers, including trained translators, interpreters and linguists.  I highly recommend her classes!’
